Assalamu Alaikum,

I have the distinct honor to serve as the board president of American Muslim Community Foundation (AMCF). After 6 years of being on the board, I am honored to continue to serve because I believe AMCF is an integral way forward for philanthropy and the Muslim community.  I believe it’s imperative to build a sustainable framework for funding initiatives that can be both self-preserving and adaptable. AMCF creates that framework in a solution that is accessible to our community through its products and services.

Ramadan is upon us, alhamdullilah. It is a beautiful time of reflection and purification. As we prepare for the blessed month, we have been reflecting on the successes of the past year and look forward to what we can continue to improve.

AMCF’s success is due to the grace of Allah (swt) and to the commitment, feedback and support of our constituents. I want to share encouraging news from the work you’ve made possible in the past year. With the support of our amazing staff and the Board, AMCF surpassed 9 million in giving from Donor Advised Funds to nonprofits in need and we service over 170 DAFs and Endowments across our community. That is the power of our communities’ generosity and strength, masha Allah.

To continue building on that success, the board and staff of AMCF have identified areas to improve efficiencies across a number of areas. The staff have been instrumental in providing insight on improvements and our systems change in 2022. We are dedicated to improving processes and making the donor and non-profit ecosystem coexist in harmony. As a part of that action plan, we are implementing a regular donor check in and will put more initiatives toward getting real-time feedback from you, the community we serve.

While there is much to be thankful for in the past year, with your help we can see a vision to more than double our impact in 2023 inshaAllah. We are looking to fundraise 150,000 this Ramadan to help take our work to the next level. Your consideration of AMCF in your giving this Ramadan is greatly appreciated.

In this time of giving, I look back upon the past years with gratitude for you and the difference you’ve made in uplifting the causes you care about. Let’s look forward to an exciting 2023 and beyond.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our staff to connect in their respective areas.

Serving together,

Omar Hassan, Board President
