Every month, our Donor Advised Funds make recommendations to support organizations. Since July 2017, these DAFs have distributed more than $2,500,000 to over 200 nonprofits.
As a community foundation, the American Muslim Community Foundation recognizes the important work that nonprofits do for the betterment of society in general, and the American Muslim community in particular. Our mission is to strengthen the link between donors and nonprofits. We work with donors to encourage strategic charitable-giving, with the hope to strengthen and diversify funding support for community organizations.
Currently, the American Muslim Community Foundation works with nonprofit organizations in four main ways:
Distributions from donor advised funds
Grants from endowments
In the long term, our goal is to provide other forms of non-financial support to nonprofit organizations, such as best practices training, advice to start-up organizations, and cultivating coalition building and collaborations among nonprofits.
Are you a start-up nonprofit wanting to jump start fundraising or applying for grants but have no tax deductible status? Or are you already a s 501(c)(3) organization but don’t have the capacity to handle the bookkeeping? The American Muslim Fund can provide fiscal sponsorship for your organization. For a small fee, we can provide fiduciary oversight or financial management services such as managing your donations and grants and reporting to the IRS. With the administration taken care of, we hope it will free up your time and resources to focus on your important work.
