About
Founded in 2021, the American Muslim Women’s Giving Circle is a collective of Muslim women around the US who are dedicated to philanthropy and are looking to amplify the impact of their charitable giving. Through the American Muslim Community Foundation (AMCF), we have created the first national giving circle for Muslim women so that we may work together strategically to make a bigger and more long-lasting impact in our communities. Purpose: To Amplify Your Impact
The American Muslim Women’s Giving Circle believes there is power in Muslim women’s philanthropic giving by combining our donations into one fund and democratizing how we give. Through this giving circle, we will provide seamless big-dollar donations to a few key organizations to make a larger impact in our community.
Members of this fund will:
- contribute towards an endowment for selected charities
- have direct input on the organizations that receive support
- allow AMCF to increase their impact by investing in sharia-compliant halal mutual funds
- receive a single streamlined tax receipt for all contributions made annually
- have access to a yearly donor report highlighting the impact of their contributions

Muslim women are the driving force in charitable giving; however, this is not reflected in the leadership and decision-making structure in most Muslim-led community organizations.
Join us to find out what social change looks like when women make the decisions. American Muslim Women’s Giving Circle (AMWGC) is a collective of women who pool resources to fund women-focused organizations that mainstream Muslim organizations often ignore. In our first giving cycle, we granted over $26,000 to three nonprofits led by Muslim women.

Who We Are
- We are a membership community dedicated to funding female-led change.
- We help democratize philanthropy by centering changemakers as decision-makers.
- We invite allies who support the work of Muslim women-focused organizations.
What We Do
- Members nominate a nonprofit of their choice. (Open to all members)
- Organizations are vetted by AMCF and asked to prepare a presentation for funding.
- Voting members review presentations and collectively decide on the top three.
- The pooled funds are placed in an endowment for long-term sustainability with returns on investment distributed to the nonprofits: 50% (1st), 30% (2nd) and 20% (3rd).

How You Can Help
- Join our giving circle with a donation of any size
- Become a voting member by giving $35 monthly, or a minimum of $420 for the 2024 giving cycle. The more you give, the more that will be distributed!
