The American Muslim Community Foundation (AMCF) is a national community foundation advancing charitable giving within the American Muslim community. Since 2016, AMCF has launched hundreds of Donor Advised Funds, Giving Circles, endowments, and fiscal sponsorships, helping individuals and institutions organize their philanthropy. With a focus on social basic needs, racial justice, and health equity, AMCF has worked with hundreds of families and dozens of endowments to distribute over $24 million to more than 900 nonprofits.

Charitable giving (zakat/sadaqah) is central to Islam, reinforcing the values of generosity, compassion, and social justice. The Quran states, “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains” (2:261), highlighting the exponential impact of philanthropy. Likewise, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity” (Tirmidhi).By fostering collaboration through collective giving, AMCF empowers donors to amplify their impact. Through innovative giving platforms and community partnerships, AMCF strengthens the tradition of charitable giving, ensuring that generosity today continues to benefit future generations.AMCF is the only organization focused on Donor Advised Funds, Giving Circles, and Endowments in the United States for the Muslim community.
