When Amin was growing up Muslim in Minnesota, he faced challenges many of us remember. The bullying after 9/11. The feeling of being different. The lack of books, shows, or characters that looked like him or reflected his faith.

He decided to create what he wished he’d had as a kid.

Today, Noor Kids has reached over 250,000 families across 25 countries with Islamic children’s books, online classes, and resources designed to help Muslim kids ages 4-9 fall in love with their faith. Their work has been featured in NPR, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Washington Post, and HuffPost.

And donations to AMCF have helped make it possible.

What Noor Kids Does

Noor Kids isn’t random Islamic content. It’s a carefully designed 36-theme character-building framework created by Muslim educators from Harvard and Berkeley, in partnership with Islamic scholars.

Their approach is simple but powerful: make Islam fun, relevant, and real.

Monthly Book Program: Families receive a new illustrated book each month, covering themes like honesty, gratitude, courage, and prayer — all through stories kids actually want to read.

The Muslim Treehouse: Weekly online classes where faith feels like an adventure, not an obligation. Interactive lessons help kids see Islam as a gift, not a chore.

Ramadan Camp: Free online programming (like their 2026 camp for ages 7-12) that brings families together during the blessed month.

110+ Books Published: From board books for toddlers to chapter books for older kids, covering everything from the power of dua to standing up to bullying.

Amin built Noor Kids because he knows what’s at stake. In his words: “We’re helping kids see Islam as a guide for life, not just a subject to study.”

AMCF and Noor Kids: The Connection

AMCF hosts the Noor Kids Educational Foundation, where donors can contribute to support free programming offered by Noor Kids. The funds are invested like an endowment, and Noor Kids benefits from the return on investment through a fiscal sponsorship partnership. AMCF provides donation receipts to donors and offers investment strategy through our Chief Investment Officer, Andalus Capital.

As Amin puts it: “Noor Kids makes tremendous impact, but we only have a team of eight people. That means we are laser focused on trying to create products and services that impact the lives of Muslim families across the world. By partnering with AMCF, we are able to focus on the areas that we are best at, and allow AMCF to take care of the rest. And in doing so, it allows us to make significantly more impact than otherwise possible.”

Programs Your Giving Supports

One of the key programs offered by the Noor Kids Educational Foundation is the Ramadan Camp for Kids. Every night during the holy month, Noor Kids provides free, live programming to help busy parents make Ramadan meaningful for their children.

This year alone, Noor Kids is serving nearly 80,000 families from over 100 countries through this program — absolutely free of charge.

Similar courses cost $189 or more, but through support from AMCF and the Noor Kids Educational Foundation, this service is provided free of charge.

In the months to come, Noor Kids is also launching a free animated series on YouTube so that Muslim families across the world can teach character traits like honesty, patience, and gratitude to their children in a way that is fun and effective.

Why This Matters for Ramadan Giving

When you support Islamic education through organizations like Noor Kids, you’re investing in something with generational impact.

Think about it: a child who grows up confident in their Muslim identity becomes an adult who raises confident Muslim children. The books on their shelf today become the values in their heart tomorrow.

This is sadaqa jariya — charity that keeps giving.

Thousands of families have already donated to support Noor Kids through AMCF. Gifts to the Noor Kids Educational Foundation are sadaqah (not zakat-eligible), but they’re powerful sadaqah with lasting impact.

The Ripple Effect of Your Giving

Noor Kids has already reached 250,000+ households. They’ve published over 110 books. They’ve created hundreds of hours of online courses. They’ve been recognized by major media outlets as a leading voice in Islamic children’s education.

But they’re just getting started.

Every grant, every donation, every endowment contribution helps Noor Kids reach more families. And every family reached is another generation of Muslims growing up confident in who they are.

Support Islamic Education This Ramadan

The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, their deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Sahih Muslim)

When you support Islamic education, you’re potentially touching all three. The ongoing charity of your gift. The beneficial knowledge reaching children. The righteous children being raised with strong faith.

This Ramadan, consider making Noor Kids part of your giving plan.
