Funding

Every month, our Donor Advised Funds make recommendations to support organizations. Since July 2017, these DAFs have distributed more than $2,500,000 to over 200 nonprofits.

As a community foundation, the American Muslim Community Foundation recognizes the important work that nonprofits do for the betterment of society in general, and the American Muslim community in particular.  Our mission is to strengthen the link between donors and nonprofits. We work with donors to encourage strategic charitable-giving, with the hope to strengthen and diversify funding support for community organizations.

Currently, the American Muslim Community Foundation works with nonprofit organizations in five  main ways:

  1. Distributions from Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
  2. Hosting nonprofit endowments
  3. Capacity-building trainings and community webinars
  4. Nonprofit social media and podcast features
  5. Distributions from giving circles and special funding campaigns

In the long term, our goal is to continue these initiatives with ever greater impact and to build a growing community around Muslim philanthropy and giving. AMCF also seeks to increase meaningful coalition building and collaborations among nonprofits to elevate the American Muslim and ally nonprofit ecosystem across the country.
