This summer meeting features a special presentation from Dr. Nausheena Hussain, who will share key findings from her groundbreaking research — the first national systematic study of Muslim women-led nonprofits in the United States.

Dr. Nausheena Hussain

Principal, Nissa Consulting LLC

Dr. Nausheena Hussain is a scholar-practitioner, nonprofit entrepreneur, and capacity-building consultant whose work centers Muslim women’s voices in philanthropy and leadership. She recently completed her professional Doctorate of Philanthropic Leadership at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where her dissertation was the first national systematic study of Muslim women-led nonprofits in the United States.

She is the founder and principal consultant of Nissa Consulting, author of Prosperity with Purpose: A Muslim Woman’s Guide to Abundance and Generosity, and lead author of the U.S. Muslim Women’s Philanthropy Report 2023. She is a 2016 Bush Foundation Fellow and 2025 AFP Minnesota National Philanthropy Day Honoree.
